Berry Lake - First Annual Ice-Out
April 14, 2007
Northern Grace Youth Camp, 14390 County Road V V, Gillett, WI
Three events, held at different times during the day, are geared to appeal to different ages and interests. The morning events will be informative presentations, afternoon events will be volunteer training, and the evening event will be a fun frog hike. It's all free (donation requested for noon lunch) and open to the public.

Sara Schmidt will teach participants how to add birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals they see to the data base of the online Wisconsin Nature Mapping Program. |

Frog Hike
Randy Korb, Environmental Educator
Randy will talk about Wisconsin's 12 species of frogs and toads. Participants will get to know each frog by sight and sound. Children will have a chance to feed and hold the frogs. Randy will then lead the group out into the night to listen to the breeding calls of wood frogs, peepers, and others. Bring flashlights and old shoes or boots as feet might get wet. |
