Annual Plan 2010 -2011
Major Goals, with specific activities by which we plan to meet the goals.
I. Initiate an Invasive Species Control work group which will adopt a public area.
II.Continue to improve our member programs and get more member involvement.
a. Plan a minimum of 5 programs for members.
b. Plan annual meeting at a central location with a well-known speaker.
c. Develop Facebook and other contacts to involve young adults.
d. Get a program intern to survey members.
III. Encourage natural landscaping and use of native vegetation.
IV. Promote further participation in Audubon Adventures to local schools.
a. Contact area schools and educators to identify those who will put the materials to use. Donate Audubon Adventures kits to those schools.
b. Publicize classroom use of the kits, with photos in local newspapers.
V. Increase awareness of public policy conservation issues.
a. Include articles in newsletter and on website on local issues.
b. Timely response to issues with letters to proper authorities.
VI. Support research on birds and their habitats.
a. Help fund DNR eagle/osprey monitoring.
b. Participate in the Christmas Bird Count.
VII. Continue cooperative community outreach efforts.
a. Natural history monthly lectures with Neville Public Museum.
b. Earth Day events in Green Bay, Door County, Appleton.
c. Baird Creek Association field trips and annual clean up
d. Bay Beach Spring Fling
e. Co-sponsor family field trips at area nature centers
g. Get program intern to develop contacts for birding field trips.
VIII. Fulfill our outstanding grants.
a. Develop additional materials for the WE Eagle Education Grant.
